Felix Von Dallwitz believes that technology has drained the last drop of independence out of humans as it becomes ever omnipresent and essential in our daily lives. Will our evolutionary resilience be enough to withstand the digital change and compression on our human-centric identities, or will we succumb to the technological Big Brother and be blinded by the light? He presented two illuminated paintings that interact with eachother dependent on the viewers position and perspective of the room.
Felix von Dallwitz is an interdisciplinary artist interested in the transitions between analogue and digital and the symbiotic relationship between humans and technology. Through mixed media collaged paintings on a variety of materials, von Dallwitz investigates painting’s place in the tech world of today. Von Dallwitz’s work has been exhibited through Australia, Europe and the USA. He is currently completing his BFA honours at VCA, and was a finalist in last years Archibald Prize (2019).
