SUPERNACULUM

‘to the last drop’

SUPERNACULUM was a four day exhibition held in the closing down Brooklyn Arts Hotel. The exhibition was inspired by the concept of ‘to the last drop’, celebrating and concluding the life of the hotel. Over 60 creative practitioners individually and collaboratively contributed to SUPERNACULUM; an exhibition during the day followed by evenings of performances, live music and interactive art works.

Brooklyn Arts Hotel was an iconic institution located in Fitzroy, Melbourne. With its doors closing forever in March 2020, there was one week before settlement when the building was going to be empty. No guests and no furniture for the first time in over 16 years. Curators Aphrodite and Tom saw this as an opportunity to toast the hotel the only way that would do it justice; with a whole lot of art and a whole lot of eccentrics.
